CAMPING!
The email's in the mail, read all about it, there's 14 of us and we're going camping. Check your mail right now, read
the whole thing and the reply right away.
I need a head count immediately, and more importantly, we need 2 more volunteer drivers (Andra's dad has already said he can take 5 of us, that leaves 9 wanting.
The email also details the equipment you'll need. I'm keeping track of who has what, how many of each thing we need, etc, so it's important to
fill out that checklist and send it to me. :-p
Other than that, get ready to get all dirtied up.
I'd like to go food shopping on Tuesday, if anyone can come (lemme know), and have a packing party on thursday afternoon, the day before we leave. (Of course it's yet to be decided where we will leave from.
Here's the highway route, with the location of the outfitters where we pick up our canoe noted.

Star Wars
Who: You guys and me(Kate).
What: A Star Wars movie-a-thon. Pizza will be made on premise.
Where: Kate's house. Kate, Erika, Nick and Dave all know how to get there, so they should be able to give directions.
When: Friday, May 14 at 5:00pm for pizza. If you want to come earlier for travel reasons or to help out you are welcome, but please not before 3:30pm.
Why: Because I miss you and Star Wars. If I haven't met you yet, then because I want to meet you.
If you are able to come please call(or email) me to let me know when I should expect you.
Camping, Mark I
well, camping in algonquin, and also in canoes, and tents, in general. I'll tell you the deal.
It'll be yeither round the June 19/20 weekend, or the 26/27 weekend, 3 days, 2 hot hot nights, and you'll need friday off (or monday) too. So, you know, plan on that.
You don't need a frame pack no more, bags go in the canoe. I'll make an equipment list, but I don't think you'll need a lot of new stuff.
And also my car's in bad shape, apparently, and my parents won't drive to algonquin, so we need rides. Specifically, if our number is similar to last year's number, which was 12, we'll need 2 minivans.
Anything else? Prolly.
The canoes will cost approx. $8 per person per day, the sites $4.50 per 6 people per day. And food, of which we will purchase less per capita than before. And I think that's what I know right now.

Basaaasball
Well, you may wonder what actually happened to Baseball on saturday. We were there! Actually, Andra and I showed up right on time, rain be damned, and waited around a while. Then we went to Dave's house and he mentioned that Ian and Erika had called, so we called them back and imported them to Dave's.
We didn't play any baseball
per se, we did way ass better than that: basically the idea was we had 9 frisbees, a baseball and bat, several tennis balls and a raquet, 3 superballs, and a funny ball with a tail that you threw like a sling, all scattered about the field, and the game we played was to run around using all of these things at once, generally to throw and/or hit other things/persons. My favorite part was baseball with multiple simultaneous pitches, but the frisbee tennis aspect of the game was pretty nice too. This was followed by the world championship of ledgies. And then we went back to Dave's to hang out, eat pasta, and play Scorched Earth.
So basically, if you were lookin to play stickball, you didn't miss anything, but if you were in the mood to push the boundaries of that which hu-mans call "sport," you loooose. Sorry if we didn't call you, I think our line of thinking was that people decided to stay home 'cause of the rain, and we just checked on those we had heard from, since it seemed they were still "down," as the kids say, for some basaaasery. But the next deal I wanna do is something everybody can come to, maybe running or swimming, or whatever, the point is everybody be there and we'll start talking about
camping.

Yeah so, baseball, 1pm, Bowmore Road P.S., you all know the address, rear field, saturday saturday THIS saturday.
I'm expecting ya. 'specially if you're: Andra, Polly, Erika, Dave, Victor, Laura, Ian, Chloe and possibleye max. And Phuong. I don't know WHERE Kirsten and Kate are, they've apparently faded out of my normal Torontonian plane of existence, at least for the moment.
And that's that for now.
PS: oddly enough this post seems to have eaten Erika's trial post from earlier. I didn't touch it, I swear, it just disappeared. Weird...

The Rules
So this is how this is s'posed to work.
- When you log on to post on this blog, there should be a "Title:" field near the top of the New Post page.
- Only give a post a title if it's a new idea for something to do, or the beginning of a subject. Anything with a title gets put on the index bar, so just leave replies to things without title, and try to read 'em all
- I think that's about it, I'm gonna add everyone's name to the blue box below, and put contact information there in such a way as doesn't expose everyone's email addresses to spam robots. Also I'm gonna make an Outlook email list with all a yall on it.
End Transmission

BASAAAS Post 1
Here's the first post. It's 2am now that I've got the thing working, only took half a day, I just might be getting the hang of this "inter-net" stuff. So being that it's late nite I'm gonna make this short. Down below's a blue box. That's where your names go, linked to contact info . . . I'll take care of that part. Later.
On the right is a green bar with scroll buttons, that's the index of posts. You'll notice this post appears in it. "Sweet," says I, "this'll make navigating easier and help keep track of BASAAAS events." Only posts that have had a title entered in the Blogger title field will appear on the index. Therefore, for normal things like "I can't come on Friday," or "All of you eat babies," (perfectly normal), don't title them. Give titles to things like this: "Baseball Game Next Sat." You'll have to try to keep the titles relatively short in order to fit them in that bar. Think of it like writing a haiku.
Alright, that should do for now.
Cheers, I'm out for the nite.
André totally did this. ©2004
